Lucky Day – Coffee & Boulangerie is a branding project created for a charming coffee shop and bakery in Japan.
With full creative freedom, I conceptualized and developed a visual identity that combines joy, culture, and warmth.
Since the café’s name means “Lucky Day”, I suggested creating a mascot to reflect positivity and fun—while grounding the brand in strong graphic symbolism inspired by Japanese tradition and culture.
The logo was inspired by the maneki-neko, the iconic Japanese “beckoning cat” figurine known for bringing good fortune to its owner. In addition to the logo and mascot, I created a more charming, anime-style “chibi” version named Meow Meow, playfully interacting with croissants and baguettes—designed to be highly recognizable and visually versatile.
To reinforce the brand’s cheerful vibe, the slogan “Have a Lucky Day” (a playful twist on “Have a Nice Day”) was used across packaging, promotional materials, and internal signage.
